The Mission
Welcome to Station Ideation, a ground-breaking classroom mission based in Melbourne’s new Town Hall Station, part of the Metro Tunnel rail line which will open to the public in 2025. Using Minecraft: Education Edition, you will be one of the first to travel through this newly released world.
On your journey through the station, the Metro Tunnel design team will invite you to join them in transforming a space to meet the needs of all future passengers. As you explore there will be so much to be inspired by including, creative design solutions that showcase history and culture and support passenger wellbeing, station accessibility, time management and station sustainability. Students, talk to your teacher today about taking part in the mission.

3. Download the Station Ideation world and curriculum

Submit your design solution
Submit your students’ final Minecraft design solutions for judging to be in with a chance of winning our 2022 competition.
How to enter
Teachers must submit the following for judging:- A narrated ‘walk through’ video demonstrating the key features of each entry’s final Town Hall Station design in Minecraft (no longer than 5 minutes)
- Any supporting resources that will strengthen your submission, e.g. student design portfolio

The Prize
There are two prize categories: Y5-6 and Y7-8.The winning Town Hall Station designs will be displayed at the Metro Tunnel Project visitor centre, Metro Tunnel HQ, on Swanston Street. The winning design team for years 5-6 and 7-8 will each receive an exciting Minecraft prize pack donated by Microsoft.
Closing Date
The closing date for this competition is 8th of June 2022 at 5pm AEST.#STATIONIDEATION
Explore Mini Melbourne
The latest version of Mini Melbourne takes you inside the future Town Hall Station 30 metres under Swanston Street. Explore the platform concourse, all seven entrances and the underground walkway to Flinders Street Station. Be amongst the first to see what the station will look like when it opens in 2025.
